Ferrari 512S Modulo - An all time legend

Designed by Pininfarina’s Paolo Martin, the one-off Ferrari 512S Modulo astonished everyone at the 1970 Geneva Motor Show. The car’s based on a Ferrari 512S, which when converted to 612 Can Am spec, produced 550hp from its V12.

This was enough to (theoretically) propel its 900-kg of weight to 100kph in 3,0 seconds and on to a top speed of over 350 kph.

I say theoretically of course because for most of its life, the 512 was no more than a show car. In 2014, American entrepreneur, race team owner and Ferrari enthusiast James Glickenhaus bought the car from Pininfarina and restored it to full working order. It was being driven by Glickenhaus when it caught fire at the 2019 Concourse d’Elegance at Lake Como. Fortunately, it has since been repaired and will live on to wow more crowds.
